then tell us why are we able to reach lvl 20 ? wouldn't lvl 10 be enough ? or lvl 5 fighting lvl 10 monsters ?

abilities of low lvl characters are limited, how much would it suck to play with lvl 5 chars the whole time
leveling up to higher levels means more possibilities more skill points and even more room for individuality, (low)lvl 20 cap doesn't make the game better, it is just the wrong way to avoid unbalance

some ppl said stuff like GW is all about skill...not the amount of hours in front of the screen...


i never really understood y they capped the leveling off at 20....i mean seriously, u cannot say WoW has no/littler skill involved....for those of u who've played it, u know about talent trees...totally unique, the more lvls, the more unique ur char is (probably). thats all skill, baby! its like GW only u get 100000000 slots. (lol) u talk about the best class in WoW and everyone is opinionated, sure Hunters own, but n e 1 will say a good ________ could beat them. Its very balenced IMO. one duel, u beat him, next, he beats u.

GW on the other hand, (i really didnt want to say "on the other hand" but for a lack of better words...) whats dominant? W/Mo (controvertial, i know, but plz dont respond to it) *farming RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOs*...etc....

ok, recap. Assuming its a veteran thats playing both games... WoW, more u play, better gear, more in-depth talent trees, more PWNAGE.
GW more u play, get ur 1 elite, get ur 7 other skills, better gear (which is VERY easy to get), more PWNAGE

odds are most ppl use the same build for GW ... for Ex. W/Mo 16 Axe/Sword/Hammer (a primary weapon/skills), 9-10 Str/Tact (For a shield/skills) and like... 9-10 Heal
WoW...is like...do i want to be 1337 with weapons? or spells? what about healing? etc.

one of the most envious (<<<dont know how to spell) things about WoW is...to get epic Armor (or in GW's case, Green Weapons(im talking about the weaps that ppl actually want)) u cant just repeatedly do it. Failed ToPK? REDO. Failed .... UBERS (?) TOO DAMN BAD! NOT TO MENTION the odds of getting epic gear to drop is...slim, and for U to get it, in a 40 man team....SLIMMER!

ugh...i could talk all night on this topic, and im sure im now hated in the GW community, but w/e. i have a lot to say...i just dont know how to word it... open to MOST responses...and i do realize this is kinda off-topic, so if an admin wants to move it to the appropreite thread, thats cool. im just too lazy.

Oh for Pete's sakes! I can't believe that you can't reason that out for yourself. There is a level range to gain skills. The idea is that the skills are balanced at a certain level. There are 8 classes with a few hundred skills. The idea is that everyone has 8 skills that all have counters to them and that counter other skills.

If you were going to make ignorant arguments keep going all the way.... Why bring skills at all? Why not bring all the skills? Why shouldn't we have 10,000 health? Why can't we have infinite energy? These are obviously rediculous questions.

Some games are designed to have different long term goals. Even with a PvE environment the core of Guild Wars is really PvP. It isn't a standard MMO so the kinds of long term goals in this game aren't associated with unlimited leveling or power items. It is about building skill sets. This is why all armours and weapons for a certain class all have the same max stats (eg: 15 - 28 damage for a bow, or 11 - 22 for a caster weapon). This is why all classes max armour all have the same max stats (with flavor variations). There is no zel/dai to over enchant your armour and weapons because that isn't what the game is about.

I love PvE and role playing, but that isn't what this game is about. This isn't WoW or Lineage or EQ. I find it odd that people don't get the difference.

the possibilities are identical as the relative power/damage levels never change.

all that does is raise the numbers as the balance stays the same.

get over inflation elitesm so you can go my level is bigger than yours.
